Year 6 are using Big Maths to improve their multiplication skills. Coin multiplication is based on the denominations of coins, and using the multiples of each to calculate: for example 50 lots & 100 lots of 14 to solve 14 x 150.
It is also calling on their ability to use partitioning as well as halving and doubling. Here is Charlotte and Abi’s work for an example.
