Journalistic writing was brought to life for Year 4 / 5 today when Chris Bucktin visited the school. Chris is the US deputy editor for the Mirror and usually based in New York. Describing his role as a journalist he explained that he has the opportunity to travel the world and often meets famous people! Chris passionately talked about his love of the written word and we were amazed to learn his international stories can reach over 14 million readers. He explained that he is writing the… “first rough draft of history!”

Later Chris worked with the class on some breaking news! The children took on roles as editors, reporters and photographers to capture a news event as it unfolded! Come back soon to read our front page reports!
