Today children across the school have been learning about Remembrance Day: what it is and why it is important. We held a 2 minutes silence at 11am to show our respects to the fallen, and used that time to think about those who work, or have lost their life, in the armed forces.

Year 5 & 6 wrote their own version of ‘In Flanders Field’ – here is George, Billy, Abe and Reise’s poem:

Dark and damp,

Soldier camp,

Blood red poppies,

Because we’re dead.

Now we lay,

For Remembrance Day

Poppies surround,

In the ground.
