The following information will be sent home in a letter this week:

At Hedon Primary School we will be holding a safer Internet week. Each class will take part in activities and discussions based on the themes below.

Foundation, Year 1 & 2 will cover issues such as:

o   What is “online”? What do you do online?

o   Asking before going online

o   What to do if they see something that upsets them

Year 4, 5 & 6 will cover KS1 and…

o   Safe online profiles

o   Safe use of social media

o   Sharing (possibly inappropriate) images & “selfies”

As a school we aim to protect and educate pupils through our teaching of e-safety. Young people today are surrounded by and emerged in the technology and tools of the digital age. Their confidence and skills in using this technology is typically high but their knowledge and awareness of the risks and dangers is usually very low.

Young people need to keep themselves safe. Teaching your child about technology should be seen as another part of keeping them safe, just like crossing the road or learning new life skills.
