On Friday 8th May 2015 we will be marking the 70th anniversary of VE Day with a street party. We will be wearing red, white & blue! All the children have been learning about VE day and what it meant to the people of Great Britain.
Year 1 made aeroplanes for homework, Year 2 have been looking at gas masks as well as sampling war time food!
The school log and admissions register from the war time period shows how the school was affected by air raid sirens and evacuation. At least one pupil was killed due to “enemy action”, he was 9 years old.
